"April and May" Spring Salmon Run
April and May is a very exciting time of year to fish for Salmon, we have a small heater in the cabin for those cool mornings. We see catches of many young Chinook Salmon most under 15lbs. These salmon are in chasing and feeding on the bait fish that migrate here to spawn. Early morning (first light) is the best as the water is ice cold fish are lethargic. The action slows down towards noon some days. A good morning we can boat up to 20 fish before noon (best in 6 hours was 65) with most of them biting before 9am. If you like to eat fish then try a spring charter for these tasty salmon, decribed as the best in the world by most...you will want to come back every year.
Later in May we are still catching salmon in Owen Sound but sometimes find hot spots in Lake Huron: Southampton, Port Elgin, Kincardine.. We chase salmon and are completely mobile to keep you on them. Captain will recommend. The weather in May is nice, water is still cool but air temps are warm.
"June"
June is a great month for weather and a mixed bag of fish, we catch many Trophy Lake trout, some up to 20lbs we see a mix size of Salmon, Rainbow, and Brown trout. Most of the fish are bigger now and fight hard in the warmer water..June we start to see some mature King salmon returning to Spawn...Early morning is still best but catch fish all day. 5:30am Departure and 11:30am departure times. You can arrange to suit your needs but these times are proven to get my clients the most fish.
"July"

July weather and fishing are great, we see BIG Salmon and mixed in Rainbow trout, Brown Trout, Lake Trout. Early am. and Mid day is a preferred time of day to head out and the fish are not shy. Early morning is still best but catch fish all day. 5:30am Departure and 11:30am departure times. You can arrange to suit your needs but these times are proven to get my clients the most fish.
"August"
BIG SALMON and Trout
August the weather is still great we catch BIG mature Salmon We are very busy in August so book early for preferred dates and times. We are always happy to hear from you and will be happy to fit you in same day if a spot open. Early morning is still best but catch fish all day. 5:30am Departure and 11:30am departure times. You can arrange to suit your needs but these times are proven to get my clients the most fish.
"September"
BIG SALMON and Trout
September we still see the BIG Salmon and much less boat traffic. later in September the Rainbow trout start there fall migration and we catch many bow’s. The fall colour change on the trees is an added bonus, for the early morning Rainbow Trout hunters. Early morning is still best but catch fish all day. 6 am Departure and 11:30am departure times. You can arrange to suit your needs but these times are proven to get my clients the most fish.
"October November"
October, the shore line is picture perfect with the changing colors of the leafs. The weather is still very good and Rainbow trout are here in large numbers. They are feeding heavy before running into the area Stream’s to spawn, this activity is good till the end of November. Morning is consistent this time year, and catch all day. We have heat on our boat for the cool mornings.
